Abstract

Optoelectronic materials are fundamentally a subset of materials that interact with light. In this presentation, I will showcase some of my group’s recent work in the development of thermally activated delayed fluorescent and room temperature phosphorescent materials. I will demonstrate that depending on their properties, they can be used as emitters in organic light-emitting diodes, as bioimaging agents, as optical sensors, and as photocatalysts. This presentation will focus on the development of organic optical thermometers, imaging agents, and a mechanophotocatalysis, a paradigm-shifting methodology to conduct photocatalysis in the solid state.
