Research commettee

Research delegate: Prof. Alessandra Tolomelli

Functions

The commission monitors the research activity of the department as a whole and its component groups, based on indicators consistent with the department's objectives. It promotes the integration of skills and cooperation among researchers within the department to increase competitiveness for European funding. Based on its evaluation, the Research commettee recommends specific guidelines for the distribution of resources among the SSDs, specifically for recruitment and career progression and the allocation of the integrated research budget (BIR). It establishes the criteria for the distribution of Marco Polo grants, which typically cover part of the expenses of doctoral students during research periods abroad, evaluating the possibility of co-financing by tutors. The Commission, also drawing on the results of the University Research Evaluations (VRA) and National Research Evaluations (VQR), assumes the investigative monitoring and oversight functions for the Research and valorisation of knowledge Quality Assurance (QA) and is therefore responsible for drafting the SUA-RD report.
